The experience I've had in UT lead have been some of the best. one of my favorites was the white water rafting exercise. It had a great impact, not only for the team work exhibited, but also the social activity that allowed for better bonds with the other students I participated with. Next, the classes were shared as for being fall prep into courses like 102, and math 115 or 119. They gave us the burden of a college student, also with the freedom of a college student, in some aspects. now we come to our 3 and a half week marker with a more natural taste of the college experience. with that one can be, if not fully, partially prepared for college life in the fall. these are the experiences I've gain from being in UT lead and the instructors.
You make a good point when you say that with the freedom of a college student, comes the burdens of a college student. That is probably the motto of most adults. Although there are great perks to being away from home and out from under your parent's roof and rules, it brings an entirely different and extensive set of responsibilities that you might not have expected or experienced before. Hopefully through the UT Lead program, you will have gained enough of the skills and knowledge to keep you from being completely overwhelmed once the Fall semester starts! I am confident that you will do great!!
